How to fix Razer DeathAdder left click issue

If your Razer DeathAdder mouse starts to fail, if you have to press the button harder then before or if the button not always acts as it should, this article is for you.

This happens just because of mouse wear, but it doesn't necessarily mean you must buy a new one. All you need to do is to regenerate or replace used/failed parts. In this case the parts exposed to wear are: a micro-switch and the thing which presses it (I don't know how to name it).

So with the switch we have everything clear it has to be replaced for a new one. But we can't replace the upper key-part right? It's integrated with a mouse housing and it's impossible to buy it.

I use an electrical tape for the issue. It acts as a layer between the switch and the upper (key) part. Its role is simple to compensate key pressing-surface wear.

No you can have an idea how precise the device is...

You will need a following stuff to proceed:

• soldering iron (and the other solder stuff).
• Screwdriver
• electrical tape (vinyl type)
• new micro-switch D2FC-F-7N (You may find them in other mouses, even the cheaper ones!).

Here are steps to do:

1. Remove both front sliders with care. You may want to re-glue them after the repair.
2. Unscrew and open the mouse.
3. Unscrew the lamina.
4. Unsolder micro-switch and solder the new one in its place.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
5. Place a small piece of a electrical tape on the front of the micro-switch. You may use additional glue for it to be sure that it will stay in its place. This is a crucial point. Do it with extra care.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
6. Re-screw everything in reverse order.
7. Done!
   
   
   After this simple repair my DeathAdder works like a harm!

Some of you might ask why to do so if you can just buy some bluetooth headset? That's true, but cable cans have some advantages over them. The crucial issue when using headset with Voip services like Skype is a latency. While cable gives us no noticeable latency bluetooth adds some of it here. It surely won't help your speaking experience. Another thing is even though bluetooth technology becomes  better and better cable connection still offers us superior sound quality. Of course, cable connection loses when it comes to the mobility, but here we assume that is not an issue.

There are a plenty of adapters on the market but I haven't found any of them actually working with my Samsung i9100. That happens just because we have a few standards of TRRS pinout in smartphones and while most of the modern devices have a Samsung/HTC/Apple style pinout most of the adapters don't.

- 4-pole 3.5mm jack plug.
